Artist Biography & Facts
Fitzia

Fitzia (1931 - 2015) was active/lived in France, Mexico.  Fitzia is known for Painting, collage.

Fitzia was born and raised in France, lived in Spain for some time and after five years immigrated to Mexico where she practiced her art with great success.  After having held several exhibitions in New York, she returned to Paris and set up a permanent workshop and, in order not to leave Mexico, she created a working and family bridge between the two cities.  Her cultural background allowed her to fully develop her artistic gifts.  Thus, she found the characteristics of the collage, a classic technique that she himself transformed and from which she created a language, a style in which paper would be the soul of all her work.  Working with paper was her whim, a challenge of the day to day and which in turn represented her personality and integrity as an artist.

"The role lends itself to play, to dialogue and often the technique gives me what I really wanted to express through my paintings." Fitzia.
